Removing All Trace
Removing All Trace is a quietly provocative image about our desire to erase the evidence of where we have been. Two figures stand atop rolling green hills, carefully sweeping away a trail of footprints—yet the path continues across the landscape behind them.
Simple, whimsical, and slightly mysterious, the scene invites different interpretations. Are they hiding where they came from, trying to undo the past, or attempting to leave the world exactly as they found it? The warm golden sky and gentle landscape give the painting a playful quality while its underlying idea encourages a second look.
An original artwork by Kimm Barnes, Removing All Trace combines humor and visual storytelling with a subtle reflection on memory, consequences, and the marks we leave behind.
