War Room offers a quiet, intimate reflection on the human cost of war. In a subdued room, an adult holds a folded American flag while a child sits nearby, both surrounded by an atmosphere of absence and remembrance. A framed photograph, a single rose, and scattered red flowers floating on water suggest someone deeply loved and lost.
The luminous patterned rug seems almost to flow through the room, contrasting with the stillness of the figures and bringing a sense of memory, love, and life into an otherwise somber scene. There seems to be a young man woven into the design of the carpet.
An original artwork by Kimm Barnes, War Room is a contemplative image about grief, sacrifice, family, and the personal consequences of war.
