When Children Sing
When Children Sing imagines a world where innocence and harmony have the power to quiet even the fiercest among us. Beneath a peaceful, star-filled sky, three fantastical beasts lie calmly on their blankets, their fearsome appearances softened by sleep and stillness.
Bright colors and whimsical characters give the scene a playful quality, while the words beneath reveal its deeper message: “When children sing — The beasts lay down — And dream of peace.” The contrast between childhood innocence and sleeping monsters becomes a gentle metaphor for the hope that compassion can overcome conflict.
An original artwork by Kimm Barnes, When Children Sing is a hopeful reflection on peace, innocence, imagination, and the possibility of a gentler world.
